Victims to bullies

I found bullying to be the most important part of this chapter due to its impact on society and how much it is still relevant. I also find it very important because I have a younger brother who is in grade school right now who I rarely get to see and I don’t want him to be bullied. I as well like it said in the book can remember instances of bullying which has affected me and made a permanent impact on me to where I can remember it. I also have friends who can always look back to me and know I was there for them back when they have been through such a situation and me protecting them.
By the book bullying is defined as repeated, systematic attacks intended to harm those who are unable or unlikely to defend themselves and who have no protective social network. To me I agree with this definition however the biggest thing to be that the definition doesn’t include the word “unwanted” to it. I feel that if bullying would stop for good we would be able to have a lot more socially better functioning humans along with more regard for those around us as opposed to having that “attacker or defense filled” mindset. The fact that this happens all over the world and in almost every single culture there is in the world is blasphemy.
Verbal bullying to me is a lot harder than physical because words can affect somebody for life and always damper their psyche while physical bullying is something that may hurt for that part of time however; you can recover from it. Either way you go they both put duress on you mind. The victims types are similar in the sense that they are being harmed however the victims of bullies tend to be withdrawn and not in want of friends because they don’t want anybody else being harmed. While you have the provocative victims who don’t have friends or sympathizers due to the attitude and way they are perceived.
