Chapter 18-College
When we turn 18 and/or we are a senior in high school we have to make the decision to either go into the military, go to college or trade school, aor to work full time. A lot of people choose college because they simply aren't ready to face the "real world." Some people base the decision on life experiences, what their parents did and so forth. I knew when I was making this decision it wasn't easy because of the simple fact I had my son, no license at the time and a two year old who clung to me. I was seeing someone here at Millersville at the time and I loved the campus and the openness. I finally decided to go because I loved the school and they had what I wanted to do including both of my back up plans just in case the one didn't work out which ended up occurring. The first year of college I found out is the worst because your trying to adapt to school on a different level then high school. I know my high school did not prepare me for the stress of college especially with how demanding and time consuming it is. Now to add on the stress of money and education debt makes me worry about the future and the economic burden that it will have on me when it comes to taking care of my son. I know that this is what's best for both of us. College is one of the decisions we have to make and it is definitely one of the hardest ones.
