Chapter 6 post #2
I find it really great that in the book they explain in a chart how language begins to develop as early as they are born. I compared that to my son who is very intelligent and likes to talk all the time. My son is mainly around adults and kids that are older then him. He seems to pick up on the words they are saying. We went to the doctor over the summer and the nurse wanted to test his eyes and his ears because they thought he was 5 and going into kindergarten and he had to name off shapes. He knows how to say the word crescent which I found very interesting because I didn't teach him how to say crescent. Then I realized that he lives with adults between his dad and myself. He was easily bored as a baby. Kids are like sponges, they soak up a lot of information at once.
