Chapter 7: synesthesia
I really enjoyed reading about the brain maturation and the emotions section in chapter 7. The disease, synesthesia, cause my eye. I have done previous papers on this disease and actually met someone who deals with this everyday. A girl I work with, Rosie, has this. I know the textbook said that it doesn't occur often in adults which is why I think it's interesting that Rosie and her mother both have it. They have the most common form. They associate colors with letters or numbers. Rosie can tell if something looks off by the way it is seen in her eye. It does make sense why it occurs more in children than in adults though because a child's brain isn't fully developed. This may sound ignorant but I think the disease is kind of cool and would want to experience it once. This is only because I don't think I fully understand it. When a person with synesthesia writes, does it come out in color in their eye? Do they see their black and white notes in color because they associate letters with colors? I want to learn more about this disease and the different types since I am only somewhat familiar with the most common form.
