I forgot to do my first part of the discussion post for this week. I got too caught up in everything else that I'm supposed to be doing. This week has been so stressful and it will continue to be. Starting tomorrow I have Getaway Weekend which is a leadership retreat. In a way it shows human development as well. We grow as people as well as leaders. It is a great way for freshman and transfer students to get acquainted with campus and all that it has to offer. I've been involved with this organization since my freshman year and it is very important to me.
While watching the video about language development it got me to thinking how I had actually learned how to talk and what I was taught to do. Learning to talk is innate and we can sometimes copy what we hear which is also why we have to be careful of what we say around young people. They can be like sponges and just soak up all they hear. My Internet started to cut out me though while watching the video and I had to start it over a couple of times. I apparently skipped some things because I had no idea what was happening when it started again. I thought the video was very informative.
