Week 2 post 2

After learning more and more about all the different theories I have come to the conclusion that a mix of them will help me in the future when I decide to have kids. Two theories however that I really stuck out to me was the social learning theory and the Sociocultural theory.  The social learning theory is when humans sometimes learn without personal reinforcement. This may occur through modeling. This is when people copy what they see others do, which is also known as observational learning. Another method that I like is the sociocultural theory. This is when human development results from the dynamic interaction between developing persons and their surrounding theories. The founder of sociocultural theory is Lev Vygotsky, who was a soviet belarusian psychologist. I agree and approve of the zone of proximal development part of his theory. This is known as the skills, knowledge and concepts that the learner is close to acquiring but cannot yet master without help.  I think that is good to not only help aid you children with this theory but also help your children learn by teaching or modeling for them through the social learning theory. I believe with these two theories I can teach and aid my children well throughout their psychological development.
