Week 3: Post #2.
In chapter 6, I found it so surprising how much children grow within a few months time. They absorb and observe all of their surroundings by touch, sounds, and simply watching what another person is doing. It amazes me how much they can learn over a short period of time, and how they continue to communicate through different ways before they actually learn to speak. It was nice to read and understand the importance of babbling in an infant's early life and how it helps them understand and communicate language. Children repeat certain syllables in order to communicate, which is normally why parents have conversations with their children even though they don't understand what they're saying. I've discovered that it's good to do that because it teaches the infant to have a conversation, and that if someone speaks to you, you can respond back. I am just surprised by all the steps it takes until a child learns to speak, but yet they still continue to communicate and understand their language.
