Chapter 6

In chapter 6 under the "First Two Years: Cognitive Development" section, I was fascinated by the section labeled "Boredom as a Research Method." Feeling bored is something I feel almost on a daily basis, so when I saw that can be used as research method in babies developmental process I had to blog about it. Habituation is the process of getting used to an object or event through repeated exposure to it. This to me just sounds like a fancy word for being bored. However, scientists can use this to determine how much babies younger than six months can perceive. Before all this great technology Piaget couldn't detect things like eye-gaze cameras, heart monitors, and brain scans. Therefore, babies younger than six months can actually perceive much more than Piaget predicted.
