Social Learning Theory

The Social learning theory is something that people kind of see as a given when people do things others then go and repeat what they have done. Examples being people who's parents smoked cigarettes are thus 70% more likely to do it themselves. Modeling is a huge role in this due to the people copying something they saw from somebody admirable. Another part of this comes with self-efficacy which is somebody gaining to be strong willed regardless if they got it from their parents or not. I found this to be one of the most interesting concepts because of experiments previously of how children would watch something on tv and take out the aggression like the person shown doing so the Bandura doll experiment. I liked seeing how especially how the younger kids reacted and did what they did i find this theory to be something that could be potentially dangerous to the youth because of how they even play video games now a day and become aggressive due to the content for example a kid who was playing grand theft auto a couple years ago got in trouble for stealing a car and trying to board an airplane. I understand the concepts and find it interesting even though it shows to be somewhat dangerous, however it’s what happens in society no kid born from a family in Lancaster, PA for example will learn Russian as first language. This theory is very relevant and always will be nothing is going to change that it is happening and always has, we as people are able to adapt well to almost any kind of change and way of life but for us to be able to do so we observe and react as those in the society around us.
